What?
REET! was a free monthly comic distributed around Leeds and Hull from October 2004 until August 2008.
The majority of the work was mine but REET! had a growing number of contributors, who offered a mix of styles, from 'slice of life' to the absurd.
Now, the REET! name continues through various comic projects.
As well as meaning 'arse' in Dutch, REET! is a good ol'-fashioned Yorkshire word, the meaning of which can be found here!
All 37 issues of REET! are available to read here for free!
Some things worth knowing about REET!
If it says 'true story' next to it, it fucking happened!
Barbs is a real-life person who once lived with me and Mrs. Shug in Dewsbury. He stopped endorsing the strip about him due to claims I was exaggerating.
REET! was hand-delivered, which was boring and took up most of the day!
REET! existed because we like to bring happiness to others. Really. Or it was a 'vanity project', as my boss likes to think.
If I ever posted a copy of issue 8 to you and you noticed a strange, brown stain on the bottom of it... That's my brother's sick. He has an uncanny knack of throwing up in the one place you don't want him to.
Who?
I live and work in Dewsbury as an illustrator/cartoonist.
I hate close-ups of food and the band Queen.
